Mist-Robed Gate is Shreyas Sampat’s wuxia game of stabbing people’s character sheets with a knife. I’m making Josh help out with this so I can learn.

We all do! Thus, this time we’re trying something new: everyone needs to pitch in to help with food. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, but still need to be set out and tidied away. Dinner is bring your own to grill and share, but utensils still need to be set out, cleaned, and trash packaged up. If we get the same number of people as NBP2, each person will only need to sign up for one job! There will be two people on each shift:
setup friday dinner
cleanup friday dinner
setup saturday breakfast (only sign up for breakfast if you will be awake!)
cleanup saturday breakfast
setup saturday lunch
cleanup saturday lunch
setup saturday dinner
cleanup saturday dinner
setup sunday breakfast
cleanup sunday breakfast
setup sunday lunch
cleanup sunday lunch
Setup includes: setting out all the food, condiments, and utensils on time (even if this means leaving your game a bit early)
Cleanup includes: tidying all the trash, packing up the food, washing any utensils (usually only cutting boards and knives), in time to make it to your next game
Thus, please sign up for KP (kitchen patrol) on one shift (it takes at most 15mins)!
unWritten is a game for creating powerful, character-driven stories, and can handle any genre. I am acting as ambassador for this fantastic game as it approaches publication, and I will be facilitating a “novella” game at Nerdly Beach Party.
I will have three player slots available — each player will portray a protagonist in their own storyline, and all the players will contribute to the setting and developing plot of the story.
Who’s in?
Nerdly Beach Party is right around the corner, September 19-21. We have four timeslots to fill with games and events: Friday Evening, Saturday Afternoon, Saturday Evening, and Saturday Late Night. We will also see the return of morning ad-hoc gaming, which worked very well last time around.
(What didn’t work very well last time around was our wiki, which was hammered by spammers since Spring. Consequently, we’ve moved to a sturdy WordPress blog at the same address, NerdlyBeachParty.org.)
If you would like to see what’s being planned for NBP3, take a look at the Summer 2008 Events page. This page lists the events in their timeslots and links to descriptions. If you would like to sign up for an event, click on the link and add a comment to the game description.
If you would like to run an event at Nerdly Beach Party Summer 2008, drop a comment on the Call for Events page and take the three easy steps to register for a login account to start your event description. The NBP Steering Committee will list your game on the Events page as soon as we can.
Hey there!
If you were expecting a wiki for Nerdly Beach Party buried under a mess of spam-links, uh, sorry. We’re switching over to WordPress and are a little under construction at the moment.
We’ll be back up and running in no time, however!
